My junior year is finally coming to an end and I couldn’t be more relieved. This year has definitely been the most difficult, but I’m finishing with good grades. I’m proud of myself and all my classmates for pushing through and finishing together. This summer is going to be super fun and relaxing, I can’t wait! Also, it’s crazy thinking that in just three short months, we’ll be starting our senior year!

My first prom was absolutely amazing. I had so much fun getting ready, taking pictures, eating dinner, and dancing. In my opinion, prom was much more fun than homecoming. One of my favorite things about prom was seeing everyone all dressed up. Eating dinner together was really cool because we had time to get up and talk to each other.
I’m glad I had a great time at prom because it’s something I’ll never forget. Soon we’ll all be graduating, so it’s important to get out there and do these type of things. Next thing we know, we’ll be telling our kids about our first prom, and we’ll be missing these days.

Over the weekend my dog and I went for a walk. There’s something about nature that I love, so it’s great spending time outside with him. It was chilly, but it felt good. He’s always stuck in the house, so I’m sure getting in the car to go somewhere makes his day. Words can’t express how much I love my dog… he’s the greatest friend anyone could ask for. When I’m sad, he’s there to cuddle with me. When I feel like going for a walk, he’s ready to go. And when I can’t finish my dinner, he’s waiting to be fed. Why deal with humans when you can get a dog?

There’s no better feeling than warm weather arriving after a long, cold winter. I love seeing buds on the trees and the sun shining. I’m getting excited about summer and no school. It’s been super stressful and exhausting, so I can’t wait to get a break. Only one month left!

During my offseason after school volleyball, I always play club. I’ve played 5 consecutive years of Sharks volleyball and I don’t want it to come to an end. Throughout all my seasons I’ve met so many awesome people and shared lots of great memories. It’s always nice bringing girls from different schools together to play. I had my very last practice a few days ago and it was emotional. It was our last time playing in that gym… everyone realized that we’re all growing up. After playing together for so long and watching each other improve, we all felt that it was a bittersweet moment. With our last tournament on Sunday, we’re going to make the very best of it.

During spring break, I was lucky enough to vacation in Florida. I had a lovely trip because my week was mellow and relaxed. I was able to visit family and enjoy my time off with them.
My mom and I went for our 3rd annual trip to the Suncoast Primate Sanctuary. We see the same birds, monkeys, and alligators every year, but we still love watching them eat and play.
There is a big orangutan named Pongo who we absolutely adore. When we throw him banana chips, he tries his hardest to give us his old peanut shells to thank us.
On our last day, we visited the Greek Sponge Docks. I enjoy walking around there because the small shops are very diverse and colorful. We ate lunch at a Greek restaurant called Hellas. They’re famous for their flaming cheese appetizer, saganaki. The waiters bring it out, set it on fire, and everyone yells “Opa!”

Every now and then I appreciate a snowfall because school gets canceled, and sometimes it just looks better when everything is covered in sparkling white snow. But, I’m getting really tired of the freezing cold temperatures. I have to start my car earlier, I worry about slick roads, and it’s like I can never get warm enough.
I’d much rather be on the nice, warm beach with the sun in my eyes. I love all beaches, but my favorite has to be Bohio Beach in Grand Turk. There was nobody around except my mom and me, so all we heard was the waves crashing and the breeze blowing. I would do anything to get out of this cold weather and go back to the beach!
